Drift rarely begins with rejection. It begins with neglect.
Most believers do not wake up one morning determined to abandon truth. Drift is quieter than that. It works through repeated ideas, unchecked assumptions, trusted voices, private desires, and the slow pressure of the world around us. What first feels foreign becomes familiar. What becomes familiar is eventually welcomed. And what is welcomed long enough can begin to feel true.
Stop The Drift exists to interrupt that process. Our purpose is to help Christians examine what is shaping the mind, test what they believe by Scripture, and return again and again to the authority of God’s Word. We want to strengthen biblical conviction before cultural pressure turns borrowed ideas into protected beliefs.

Stop The Drift is a teaching and media ministry created to help everyday Christians grow in biblical discernment, theological clarity, and faithful obedience. This ministry is not intended to replace the local church, but to serve believers who belong to it. The aim is to place useful biblical tools into the hands of Christians so they can recognize error, understand Scripture more carefully, and live with conviction in a confused age.

Through articles, podcasts, video teaching, and practical resources, Stop The Drift addresses the ideas that quietly shape Christian thinking. We want to speak to the places where culture, emotion, experience, and personal preference begin competing with revelation, then bring those questions back under the light of Scripture.
— WHAT MAKES US DISTINCT
We are not trying to make Christianity more acceptable to the age. We are trying to help Christians become less shaped by it.
Stop The Drift is committed to the conviction that Scripture does not need cultural permission to be true. The Bible is not one voice among many, waiting to be weighed against experience, preference, popularity, or the assumptions of the moment. It is the final authority that judges every other voice.
That means we are willing to address ideas that feel normal simply because they have become common. We are willing to question beliefs that have been repeated so often that no one remembers asking whether they are biblical. And we are willing to follow truth wherever it leads, even when truth calls us to repentance, correction, self denial, or costly obedience.
Therefore we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, lest we drift away from it.

Shawn Gray is the Teaching Pastor at Echo Church in Pleasant Hill, Missouri, and the creator of Stop The Drift.
His writing and teaching are driven by a concern that Christians can be surrounded by Bibles, sermons, podcasts, and Christian language while still being quietly formed by ideas that do not come from Scripture. Stop The Drift grew out of a desire to help believers identify those influences before they become convictions, then bring every belief back under the authority of God’s Word.

— THE HEART OF STOP THE DRIFT
Truth is not ours to edit. It is ours to hear, believe, and obey.
The Christian life is lived in a current. Every age has its pressures, its assumptions, its acceptable sins, and its preferred definitions of what is good and true. The danger is not simply that the world believes differently than we do. The danger is that, over time, we may begin believing differently too, while still using the language of faith.
Stop The Drift exists because faithfulness requires attention. We must pay attention to what we hear, what we love, what we repeat, what we excuse, and what we allow to shape us. Above all, we must pay much closer attention to the Word of God.
